Circumstance having caught my foot and drug me all the way back to Missouri some 3 years back... I've worked at a dozen different trails to break out and go Home....each and every one a miserable bust.
Homesick for the west, the fresh obstacle of a 21st century plague has me aching for a culture lost to the people of this century.
Lost to them, but it still lives. It's kept alive by a hardy few who preserve that western character and its clear eye in secluded spots across the west. They live their lives as they see proper, Free on the Land.
I saddled this Bronc, and this Bronc I'll get rode. I vow.

ReplyDeleteWas wondering how you were doing. Hoping to see a new adventure novel show up in my Amazon notifications. Of course the last tail from the road was left hanging wondering if the trailer ever got repaired after the collision with the deer. But not worth having you head dragged back into that stuff that is better left behind in dust of the trail.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to hit the trail and spend the winter in the southwest sunshine. Of course it will mean defying the authority figures who say in the new sets of behavior rules that seniors have to stay-at-home until they get vaccinated. Those youngsters are finally getting a suitable revenge for being grounded by their parents and having to do stay-at-home time when they would rather be out on adventures.
